About Me
I am a full-time student at the University of California, Santa Cruz majoring in Computer Science: Game Design and minoring in Computer Science. I work at UC Santa Cruz as a support technician for the campus’ residential network. I have a passion for learning and technology. I love to program, make games, and play games!
How it started
Ever since I picked up my first piece of technology at 5 years old, I have been fascinated by technology and the digital landscape. Throughout the years, my passion for technology and computers only grew culminating in my hobby of programming, building computers, and playing computer games. Playing games has allowed me to interact with others across the world teaching me valuable lessons in leadership, strategy, problem-solving, team building, and communication, further allowing me to discover a passion for helping others. Programming and building computers have taught me that failing is not the end of the world. It is how you persist through failure that is important.
Values
I find that many of my core values and beliefs originated from these online experiences and interactions with others. Especially the idea that you should always aim to spread your knowledge and experience to others, especially if they are less knowledgeable or experienced in that subject. I’ve learned the importance of flexibility, planning, and communication, especially in team environments.
Goals
By studying Computer Science: Game Design, I hope to take the elements of interactivity and the ability to accurately curate specific experiences out of computer games and into other fields to make technology and the subsequent user experience more interesting, interactive, and less infuriating. I’ve found that the ability to accurately curate digital experiences has implications far outside the creation of games and past digital boundaries as well!
